My family and I have been eating a low carb diet since August 29, 2017.  I find that we are eating more meat and veggies and this means grilling out!  I like to grill out because it is quick and my husband takes over!  The hard part now is that it is getting dark by 5:30 at night and this is usually when we start to think about dinner.  Not only is grilling in the dark hard but it isn't safe.  This is why I am glad to have found the BBQ Grill Light from Cave Tools.   This grill light is the perfect tool for seeing at night while we grill!  It has 3 adjustable settings plus it is water and heat resistant.  Not only can we see our food while we cook it but we can see most of our back yard too!  This heavy duty grill light is bright and versatile too.  It is made to fit on any grill handle whether you have round or rectangle shaped bars.

Let's get organized with another great item from Cave Tools!

I have been looking for an easy way to get organized and I have found a really helpful item from Cave Tools.  They have a Stainless Steel Multipurpose Hook Rack that is very sturdy and great for organizing items.  You can use this for holding your BBQ utensils, pots and pans, or even for holding coats, keys, and purses by your back door.  I love that this hook rack comes with 5 hooks because it is large enough to hold all of our items.

The Hook Rack is very easy to install.  It comes with an interchangeable screw driver, 2 anchors, 2 screws and even screw cap covers so that your screws are hidden from view!  This hook rack is shiny and stylish as well.  It will look great in your kitchen or in your bathroom.  I also like that we can use it outdoors or in high humidity areas without worrying about it rusting and looking dirty.  Regardless of where you use your Hook Rack from Cave Tools it will look good and help you to get organized!

San Francisco Bay Coffee: Coffee Time!

One of my favorite parts of grocery shopping is going down the coffee aisle.  Whether I need coffee or not, I must go down the aisle and smell all of the goodness that it holds.  Not only do I enjoy the taste of coffee but I enjoy the whole process of coffee.  I love the aroma as it brews and I love the warmth that the cup brings to my hands.  This is why I am so excited to be a part of the San Francisco Bay Coffee Influencer program!  I will be able to try a variety of coffees and share them with you!

I was first introduced to San Francisco Bay Gourmet Coffee through twitter a few years ago.  The Rogers Family Company was hosting a contest and giving away gift cards for their website.  I was lucky enough to win a $50 gift card and I bought several varieties of k-cups through them.  I was hooked!

One of my favorite San Francisco Bay Gourmet Coffee blends is the Fog Chaser.  The Fog Chaser is a blend of Central and South American coffees that are full bodied yet smooth.  The coffee brews to a dark brown and as it brews it releases a heady thick aroma of delicious coffee.  While this coffee is very aromatic it goes down smooth.  I like to top my hot cup of coffee off with a flavored creamer and hazelnut goes very well with the Fog Chaser.  I am very pleased that this is my first variety of SFB Coffee to try as an influencer.

If you are like me and enjoy giveaways SFB Coffee has a contest on facebook, you may enter in the hopes of winning FREE coffee!  They have daily prizes and the last day to enter is December the 18th.  This is my referral link and good luck!

If you would like to order San Francisco Bay Gourmet Coffee you may find them online.  First time customers may sign up and receive a 15% discount code by email.  This might be perfect for the coffee lover on your Christmas list too!  Be sure and order by December 12 if you would like to have your shipment arrive before Christmas!

Disclosure:  I am a San Francisco Bay Coffee Influencer and I have received a free box of Fog Chaser k-cups so that I may review their product and provide an honest opinion of it to my readers.  All opinions are my own.

Myrtle The Land Turtle

Ever since I was a small child I have had a love for land turtles.  Turtles remind me of a much simpler time in my life.  They remind me of times when my papa use to take me out riding around in the country in his "beep beep" and we would look for turtles.  It was always exciting when we found one.  We would take the turtle and raise it until July the 4th.  Then each year on July the 4th we would go to the OU Biological Station (where my grandparents worked during the summer) and we would have a big turtle race!  After the race we would have watermelon and then go fishing!  Those really were the good times and it brings back so many good memories that I wanted to share my love of turtles with my kids.

About 5 weeks ago, we found Myrtle our land turtle.  Myrtle's cage is a huge 3 foot long by 2 foot wide and 1.5 feet high galvanized steel water trough. We have a square foot of dirt on one side along with brown leaves that have fallen from our tree. Myrtle is given fresh water in a frisbee daily. She loves to get in it and bathe. This I know because the water is always filled with dirt and leaves by the next day.

During the past few weeks we have learned that Myrtle loves to eat wild white mushrooms (not store bought, I have tried that, haha)  and she also enjoys red apples.  Today when we went to check on Myrtle and to take her on her walk we discovered that she has laid an egg!  We don't know if this egg is fertile or not since we have had her for about 5.5 weeks but we plan on doing some research to see what we should do with the egg.  Right now, it is just covered up with leaves but we are excited to see what this discovery will bring!

We plan on letting Myrtle go on the first week of August unless anyone local would like to keep her while we go on vacation. She needs to be "walked" twice a day for 45 minutes at a time. If you would like to Myrtle sit, please just let me know! She is a very good turtle. I have had turtles as a small child and they were never this tame.

Giveaway and Help For New Moms: Bare Air-free Baby Bottles

My children are a bit older now but when they were newborns, I wasn't able to breast feed them.  I tried and wanted to; however, due to personal circumstances I wasn't able to.  I did the next best thing: bottle feed.  I was lucky in the way that my children were healthy and happy for the most part.  On a rare occasion they did get a little gassy and this is where I wish that I had had Bare Air-free Baby Bottles to turn too.
Bare Air-free Baby Bottles are a mom invented product by Priska Diaz.  Priska is a mom who understands the true challenge of wanting to breastfeed 100% of the time but not being able to.  When she was faced with this very personal challenge she invented Bare Air-free Baby Bottles which are a new device that not only looks like a breast but it functions like one too!  Most importantly, it dispenses air-free milk.  This process is to help your babies drink like nature intended: air-free!
If you are a new mom and are having a feeding issue with your baby you may find out more about Bare Air-free  Baby Bottles at www.bittylab.com.   You may also find Bare Air-free Baby Bottles bottles at "most" Babies R Us and Toys R Us.  To check store locations, click here.  If you would like to learn about more Mom invented products check out Mompact.

Happy Spring Time Gardening!

Spring is here and it's time for outdoor projects to be started. I am a member of CrowdTap and they have encouraged their members to write a fun Spring DIY tutorial and I have chosen gardening as my DIY project.

My family and I enjoy gardening and each year we try something different. This year we started growing our plant seeds in 2 liter bottles that we used to create terrariums.

One sunny Sunday afternoon we cut each of the 2 liter bottles in half and then filled them with potting soil. The children got to choose which seeds they wanted to plant and then they poked holes in the dirt, placed in the seeds, covered them up and watered them before replacing the top of the 2 liter back on. We were careful to remember which seeds we placed in each container and we used a marker to write the plant names on the side of the 2 liter bottles.

We anxiously waited about a week before the seeds turned in to seedlings and then into plants. Once the chance of frost had passed we transplanted our plants in to our raised garden bed. Now we check them daily to see if any new vegetables have grown. My family and I enjoy our little garden. It is a way for us to connect through the whole growing process. Plus we get to enjoy the produce of our labor!

Disclosure: I am a member of CrowdTap and I was asked to write a DIY tutorial post. I have chosen this topic and all opinions are my own. I may receive 200 points which is equivalent to 2 raffle tickets for sharing a DIY post with you.

Saving Money At Dollar General

We live in small town USA and our only local store is Dollar General.  I am so thankful to have this store in our town and we shop there several times each week.  My favorite day to shop at Dollar General is on Saturdays and I want to share a great way to save money when you shop there.

Dollar General has digital coupons that  you can get off of their website and load them to your account. Then when you pay at the cash register you enter your phone number that is connected to your account on the credit card machine BEFORE the cashier hits total. It is really easy to use.  If you combine these coupons with shopping on a Saturday and getting the $5 off of $25 coupon you can save approximately 50% off of your bill easily.

My big money savers today were:
$2 off always discreet pads: reg $4 and the 5/25 took off another .50 = $1.50
$1 off herbal essence bod wash reg $2.25 and the 5/25 took off .28 = .97
$3 off Loreal total repair shampoo reg $4 and the 5/25 took off .50 = .50
$1 off Simply Olay body wash reg $2.25 and the 5/25 took off .25 = $1
$2 off Speed Stick gear deodorant reg $2.95 and the 5/25 took off .45 = .50

They have food, household, personal care, paper product and more types of coupons.  It's free to set up your account. No coupons to print or clip and it's easy to use.  Just write down the coupons that you add to your account, take your calculator to the store and make sure you meet your $25 before tax in items.  At the register, enter your phone number in the keypad and watch the savings add up.

I like to make multiple orders and that's why I make sure to meet my $25 and not go over by much.  I also use 2 accounts to add coupons too.  Just make your list.  Even if you don't want to use the digital coupons, you can still use the $5/$25 and save 20% of your bill.

Disclosure:  This is not a sponsored post.  I simply want to share my ways of savings with my readers.  All opinions are my own.

Las Vegas: My 4 Day Rundown

I was very fortunate and I won a trip to Las Vegas through a twitter sweepstakes.  Our trip was for 2 people and it includes airfare, 2 nights hotel (we paid for an additional 3rd night our self), 4 golf irons, 1 hour golf lesson with a golf pro, and week long tickets to a PGA golf tournament.  While I am writing about a free trip that I won, this is not a sponsored post but more of a journal entry and maybe this will help others who are traveling to Vegas for the first time.

If you haven't been to Vegas, here's my take: I am a gambler, I like to play and I need to play for at least 5 hours to get my play out.... in Vegas we didn't get to do this.  Instead we casino hopped so that we could see it all. We only spent about $20 each in most of the places that we visited. If we hit a little we'd cash it in and play it back.  We tried to make the most of the play money that we took with us and we didn't want to run out and not be able to see everything that Vegas has to offer.

We arrived in Vegas on Thursday afternoon and chose to visit downtown first.  For a Thursday night Freemont street was insane!!!!  This is where all of the action was for us.  There are go go dancers on table tops, the smell of pot was in the air, hot girls in very little clothing were dancing on a main stage, and a band was on another stage.  People were drinking and dancing... even the older crowd was enjoying their self.  It was great to visit and we only stayed downtown for a few hours.  I loved Freemont Street because the casinos are so close that you can easily walk door to door, drop a $20 and keep on moving. Most of the foot traffic in this area is outside of the casinos and the machines were open for the most part.  I would definitely go to Freemont Street for the experience but not stay to play there for long.

On the Las Vegas Blvd strip, it's fun to drive up and down and people watch at night.  You have to go and see the big lights, but walking on this street is almost impossible. It has huge blocks and tons of people everywhere!  I held my husband's hand so we didn't get separated.  If you go in the casinos, head to the back, where it's less crowded and play.  We mainly walked through the casinos on the strip to get the feel of the place. I wanted to see the grand entrances, the fish tanks, fountains and other attractions that these casinos had to offer. On the strip, my best tip is to get valet parking and go to that casino and the one directly across the street from it.  Then after your visit, tip your parking attendant $1 and drive to the next casino and do the same.

For Vegas, I had a list of free stuff to see and do, this helped a lot! This list helped us to choose which casinos to visit. My favorite places to play and sit and relax were off of the strip and out of downtown. We liked the fancy resort type casinos there were about 10 miles out of town. This is where we'd play $50 each or so.

Off of the strip we visited M, Silverton and South Point. Here they were way less crowded and more like the indian casinos that we have at home. These casinos are very grand and luxurious with a more adult atmosphere that I enjoyed since I don't drink, dance or party hardy.

While in Vages, we did visit 2 golf courses.  One was where my husband had his lesson with the pro and the other was where the PGA Golf Tournament was held.  Golfing isn't my cup of tea but my husband really did enjoy this experience and we picked up some nice golf freebies as well: a hat, sleeve of golf balls, 4 sets of golf ball with tees, 2 golf towels, a tank top etc.

Over 4 days we ended up spending about $450 on gambling and we had 2 shirts and 2 stuffed teddy bears to show for it!

Our Vegas Dining Plan:

We would start our day with a big breakfast at the hotel which was included with our rate and then we would eat out 1 meal in the afternoon.

We ate at Du Pars at the Golden Gate casino while on Freemont Street.  We both had the $9.99 special of chicken breast, gravy, mashed potatoes and grilled veggies.  This meal was was so good- mouth watering good and well worth the price.

At the Silverton Casino we had a buffet for FREE.  We had joined their rewards club and played at the casino to earn the points to get both buffets for free.  The regular price would have been $19.99 each!

At the Gold Nugget on Freemont Street we had the buffet one day there too.  I had won a $50 gift card years ago on a sweepstakes for Landrys and it worked there!  The buffet was $18 for a brunch buffet and we were glad that we had a gift card to pay for it.

We did get a free $10 food credit at a casino and on Saturday night we had banana splits!! It was so much fun and so sinful to eat that many sweets for SUPPER haha  While I wouldn't feed my kids banana splits at all, we had them for supper!  It felt so wrong but it was great at the same time.

While on the strip we did visit a Jamba Juice and ordered a large drink to share (paid for with a gift card that I had won) and on Freemont Street we did visit a Starbucks for tea (paid for with a gift card that I had won also). My tip is to order one big drink at these places and then ask for a large cup of ice water.  This way both people get a water to share and when that cup is empty you have a cup to pour the drink in so you can easily share it also.

On the way home we had Cinna Bon pananis at the airport and then we stopped at a Mc Donalds for a quick bite while on the road (paid for with a gift card that I had gotten from klout).

*****

So like they say, no place like home. We enjoy our local indian casinos as much as we enjoyed Vegas. They are home to us. We can drive 35 minutes, go in, play $150 and stay my 7 hours or so and feel like I gambled, played, and enjoyed it.  While in Vegas, it was more about the bling, not the machine!  It was walk in, eww and ahhh and see the grand beauty, drop a $20 and leave, ewwing and ahhing all they way to the next casino.

For us, it seemed like our casinos at home are built first then become popular and the fancy hotels are added last.  In Vegas it seemed like they built the big huge fancy hotels and added a little casino as a side attraction.

My final take on Las Vegas:

Would I go back?  Yes if I won a trip again.
Would I take my kids?  Not until they are 30 and are out of the partying stage and out of school.

Do you enjoy good coffee? I do!

I have been introduced to another really great brand who found me through twitter.  This time I have been offered a chance to try Organo Gold products.  I have been sent a very generous array of samples to try.  I was the most excited to try their coffee!! Yes I do enjoy a good cup of coffee twice a day so this was a treat!

I have tried the Greg Norman Toasted Hazelnut K-Cup and the Greg Norman Chocolate Almond K-Cup that is made by Organo Gold.  Both of these coffees are rich and flavorful and not one bit bitter.  I normally like my coffee with a sugar free flavored creamer however both of these tasted great without the sweet addition.  I like K-Cups because they are easy to use, measure out perfectly and there is no mess!  I was happy to know that Organo Gold offered this product.

I was also able to try the premium gourmet royal brewed coffee from Organo Gold.  This coffee is a Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee blend and it comes in a filter pack.  It is easy to use, you simply put the filter in your coffee pot and add 18 ounces of water to your coffee maker and brew!  The aroma is delightful and the taste is smooth!

Among these samples, I was also sent a Green Tea, Gourmet Cafe Latte, Gourmet Black Coffee and a G3 Premium Beauty bar soap to try.  I am very happy with all of the samples that I have received and if you would like to know more about these products you may visit their website at How About a Cup.

Disclosure:  I have received FREE samples so that I may try these products and share them with you.  All opinions are my own.

Review: Coobie Seamless Bras

I have been given the opportunity to try 2 bras from Coobie Seamless Bras.  For my review I requested a full sized version of their scoopneck and vneck bra.  I like that these bras are both comfortable and stylish plus the full sized bra will fit up to a size 42D nicely.  I also like that these soft bras have a moveable  support cup so that you can position it just right.  The back of these bras are wide and supportive also.  You don't have to worry about a clasp breaking with this bra either.  You simply pull it over your head like a sports bra and you have supportive coverage that enhances your shape.

These bras are available in 7+ styles and 50+ fashion colors and patterns.  They are perfect for every day wear, yoga, pilates, new and nursing moms, sleep wear, and more.  Check out this line, it is a fit for most women!

Coobie Seamless Bras has a promotion to save 25% on any order of $40 or more at www.shopcoobie.com by using promotion code: USFG25  This promotion will expire on 04/30/14 so be sure to shop quickly if you are in the market for a new bra.

Disclosure:  I have received two FREE bras from Coobie Seamless Bras so that I may complete an honest review of their product.  All of these opinions are my own.
